By using this website, submitting a form or continuing to browse after being shown our cookie notice, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

2. Laws and Principles We Follow

WeCommerce Pty Ltd aims to process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and its associated regulations.

We aim to process personal information according to the following principles:

  • accountability;
  • lawful, fair and reasonable processing;
  • collecting information for a specific and legitimate purpose;
  • only collecting information that is relevant and necessary;
  • keeping information accurate where reasonably possible;
  • being transparent about how information is used;
  • protecting information through reasonable security safeguards;
  • respecting users' rights to access, correct or request deletion of their personal information.

3. What Information We Collect

3.1 Contact form

When you submit the contact form at wecommerce.net.za/contact, we collect:

  • first name and last name;
  • email address;
  • phone number (optional);
  • your message.

This information is forwarded to us by email via our transactional email provider. We do not store contact form submissions in a database.

3.2 Early-bird sign-up forms

When you register early interest in Agri Tools via our sign-up form, we collect:

  • first name and last name;
  • email address;
  • phone number (optional);
  • farm type (optional).

This information is forwarded to us by email. We do not store early-bird submissions in a database beyond the email record we receive.

3.3 Analytics data (with your consent)

If you accept analytics cookies, we collect website usage data through Google Analytics, including:

  • pages visited and time spent on each page;
  • how you arrived at the website (referrer, search term, direct);
  • approximate geographic location (country and city level);
  • device type, browser and operating system;
  • anonymised session and interaction data.

Analytics data is only collected if you consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

3.4 Technical information

When you access this website, standard server and CDN logs may automatically capture your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We do not actively store or analyse these logs for marketing purposes.

4. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you complete and submit a form on this website;
  • automatically through Google Analytics if you have given consent;
  • through server logs generated when your browser requests pages from this website.

5. Why We Use Information

5.1 To respond to enquiries

We use contact form information to read and respond to your message. We will not use your contact details for any other purpose without your consent.

5.2 To manage early-bird registrations

We use sign-up information to follow up with you about the product you registered interest in. We will contact you when the product or early-access programme launches or progresses.

5.3 To understand how our website is used

With your consent, we use Google Analytics data to understand how visitors interact with our website, identify which content is most useful and improve the site experience.

5.4 For legal and security purposes

We may process information to comply with applicable law, protect the security of our website, prevent fraud or misuse, and respond to lawful requests from competent authorities.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal information where:

  • you have given consent — for example, accepting analytics cookies or voluntarily submitting a form;
  • processing is necessary to respond to your enquiry or fulfil a pre-contractual step you have requested;
  • processing serves the legitimate interest of WeCommerce Pty Ltd — for example, understanding how the website is used so we can improve it;
  • processing is required to comply with a legal obligation.

Where consent is the basis for processing, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent for analytics cookies will not affect any processing that occurred before withdrawal.

7. Third-Party Service Providers

WeCommerce Pty Ltd does not sell personal information. We use the following third-party providers in connection with this website.

7.1 Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — email delivery

Brevo is our transactional email provider. When you submit the contact form or an early-bird sign-up form, your submission is transmitted to our inbox via Brevo's SMTP API. Brevo processes the email content and recipient metadata necessary for delivery. Brevo is based in France and is subject to EU data protection law. Information sent via Brevo may therefore be processed outside South Africa.

7.2 Google Analytics — website analytics

Google Analytics is only active on this website if you have accepted analytics cookies. Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC, based in the United States. When active, it collects anonymised usage data through cookies stored on your device and sends that data to Google's servers. Google may process this data in the United States and other countries where Google operates.

You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer and selecting Decline, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

7.3 Tawk.to — live chat

Tawk.to is a live chat service operated by Tawk.to Inc. (United States) that is loaded on all pages of this website. It allows you to contact us via instant chat. Tawk.to sets functional cookies and local storage entries to manage your chat session and preserve chat history across page loads.

If you start a chat, any name, email address or message you provide will be received by WeCommerce Pty Ltd and stored by Tawk.to. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry. Tawk.to may process your IP address and browser information as part of delivering the service.

The Tawk.to widget is active for all visitors as it provides a direct support channel. You can review Tawk.to's privacy policy at tawk.to/privacy-policy.

7.4 Google Fonts — typography

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser downloads these fonts, your IP address is visible to Google's servers. Google Fonts does not set cookies. If this concerns you, you can block requests to fonts.googleapis.com via your browser settings or a content blocker.

8. Cookies

This website uses cookies for analytics purposes only, and only with your consent. See our Cookie Policy for a full list of cookies, their purpose and duration.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

9. Cross-Border Transfers

Some of our service providers — including Brevo and Google — process or store information outside South Africa. WeCommerce Pty Ltd aims to ensure that appropriate safeguards exist for such transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses applicable to Brevo, and Google's Data Processing Terms.

By using this website and submitting forms, you understand that your information may be processed in other countries as described in this policy.

10. Data Storage, Security and Retention

WeCommerce Pty Ltd takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.

Contact form and sign-up submissions are transmitted securely via Brevo and received as email. They are retained in our email inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to manage the enquiry or registration, and are subject to the email security measures we apply to our mailbox.

Analytics data retained in Google Analytics is subject to Google's default data retention settings, which we have set to the minimum available period of 14 months.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at info@wecommerce.net.za.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether WeCommerce Pty Ltd holds personal information about you;
  • request access to your personal information;
  • request correction of inaccurate or outdated information;
  • request deletion of your personal information where legally permitted;
  • object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
  • complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@wecommerce.net.za or through our contact form. We may ask you to verify your identity before actioning a request.

12. Links to Other Websites

This website may contain links to external websites, including our product platforms. WeCommerce Pty Ltd is not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before submitting personal information to them.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, our services or applicable law. The updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the website after changes are published means you accept the updated policy.
