Advisory
Independent advice, from the team that builds Agri Tools and Agri Funda.
We spend our days looking at how smallholder and emerging farms actually record what they do. That work tells us things, and sometimes the most useful thing we can offer is not a product but an opinion.
This is advisory work, not software development. We are not going to build you a system. We will read what you have, tell you what we think, and say so plainly if we think you are about to spend money on the wrong thing.
What we look at
Some of the questions we get asked
Crop and production plans
We write them. Every farmer on Agri Funda already gets a crop plan written for his own land and his own season at no charge, so this is the read that goes further. And if you already have a plan, including one generated by AI, we will read it against the enterprise, the season and the ground it is meant for. Those are getting common, and they are often plausible and wrong in ways that are hard to see from the inside.
Business and seasonal plans
We write them, and we read the ones you already have. What usually decides it is what the plan assumes about the season, the prices and the labour, and whether those assumptions hold.
Record keeping, compliance and data
What to record, what an auditor will actually ask for, and whether your records would survive being checked. Also what to do with the data once you have it, and what not to promise about it.
Programmes working with smallholders
Designing how data gets collected across a dispersed group of farmers, and what can realistically be expected from them. Most of these programmes end up collecting less than they planned, because the forms take time the farmers do not have.
Who this is for
Farmers, programmes, NGOs, financiers and agribusinesses. The common thread is someone who has to make a decision about farming and wants an outside read on it before committing.
We will say when a question is outside what we know. Our products exist, and we will mention them when they are relevant, but the advice does not depend on you using them.
Have something you want read?
Send us the plan, the question or the problem. We will tell you whether it is something we can help with before anything else happens.
